Lynette Chiu's profile

General Mills: Millsberry.com

At Publicis Dialog, I was copywriter and content strategist for a team tasked with creating frequently updated, educational and engaging content and user-generated applications for 8- to 12-year-olds on a branded MMORPG. I concepted for and wrote all copy for weekly articles, games, ads, activity/location refreshes and revisions of the site navigation.

Millsberry.com sustained millions of users and a virtual economy, so it was imperative that I understand the technical limitations of the site while coming up with and overseeing each new initiative, as we were making structural changes to a site where the framework, content management system, and huge tables of user data were complicatedly intertwined.

Among the major initiatives rolled out during my time on Millsberry was Kai's Ultimate Surfari game, built in Flash and representing a shift in illustration style and game complexity across the site. I wrote all directional copy for the game as well as interactive content on surfing history and surf vocabulary in the voice of Kai, Millsberry's Hawaiian transplant.
The modern art exhibit at the Millsberry Museum conveyed familiar faces and places around town in artworks mimicking significant trends in contemporary art.
